Chicago Plein Air Painters
A few artists and painters gather together through the year and meet up to create beautiful pieces inspired by impressionist style of art. They prefer to do them en plein air, which means "in the open air." Since it's the middle of winter in Chicago, they met at The Garfield Park Conservatory today. This is Jumad and his beautiful piece.
My personal favorite style of painting is impressionism. I love the romantic and whimsical feelings that you get when looking at an impressionist style piece of artwork. I love looking at paintings from Monet or Degas, who seem to inspire some of the Chicago plein air painters when it comes to their work. Monet was a big painter who would use the en plein air style when he would paint outside of his home in Giverny. I would gladly do the same thing if I lived there!
